2021 offers plenty of hope for the ice hockey community in the Greater Bay area, featuring 3 new rinks opening within the region. Rink locations in Discovery Bay, LOHAS Park and Shenzhen means more locations where hockey will be running, giving participants more options. We look forward to the imminent opening of these rinks once government restrictions in Hong Kong are relaxed. Further details and images of each rink follow:
Discovery Bay
DB Ice Rink, located on Lantau Island is set to open soon. The rink measures 59m x 26m, just one metre short of an NHL sized rink. This modern rink is equipped with a giant electronic scoreboard located over centre ice, as well as player benches, penalty boxes and a scorekeeper area. Elevated seating is located around the rink, as well as restaurants in the complex. Players will be happy to know there are 4 dressing rooms equipped with hockey specific lockers and shower rooms in the complex as well. (Photo credit: Raymond Loo)
