The second stop of the GBIHL took place at a sweltering Shunde roller hockey rink, where the second set of round robin games between Shunde, Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen took place.
The league continued with teams fighting to get points after the first stop that took place in Macau earlier in June. Some very closely fought games saw the hosts Shunde and Macau pick up two wins and a loss each to keep the standings tight at the top of the league. The highlight of this round of games came in Shunde pulling off a thrilling 7-6 win over the Macau team on home turf after Macau mounted a strong late comeback.
After two stops, and with two more destinations to go, Hong Kong and Macau sit atop the league with 8 points from 6 games, while Shunde sit in 3rd with 6 points and Shenzhen on 2. For full stats and standings, please visit www.GBIHL.com
Special thanks again to Wheel Hub Asia who are sponsoring a set of wheels to the MVP of each stop of the GBIHL. This weekends MVP award belongs to Josh Ho of the Shunde team.
The GBIHL will continue with its next stop in October in Hong Kong. Stay tuned for details. |
